Tasty One-Pot Beef Rigatoni Bolognese

Tasty One-Pot Beef Rigatoni Bolognese

What’s better than an amazing pasta recipe? A pasta recipe that cooks in a single pot, for simple preparation of a favorite Italian classic recipe! While this Halal Beef Rigatoni Bolognese is deliciously tender and full of rich, Italian flavor, what makes it even better is its simple preparation for the ultimate easy meal for busy weeknights while still tasting amazing.

Get out your biggest pot, throw it on the heat and you’re ready to get cooking, starting with some Halal ground beef from Midamar. We went with the 93% lean beef for this recipe to cut down on the drippings that a less lean option will leave. Fat cooks down into flavor in cooking, but because the sauce will be jam packed with plenty of other tasty flavors from the tomatoes and veggies we’ll toss in later, a nice lean beef will give you those tender and beefy bites while avoiding an oily sauce later.

When the beef is browned, toss in a few diced veggies like celery, onion, and carrots for some fresh veggie flavor along with the classic garlic. Not only will these taste great later, but they also smell great now while you’re cooking them!

The base of this sauce is a combo of Halal beef stock, a can of crushed tomatoes, and a healthy amount of tomato paste so that tomato-ey flavor doesn’t get washed out by the beef stock. All this liquid will boil down into a thicker and tastier sauce with everything simmering together, so don’t be intimidated by the amount of liquid in the pot at first. The best part of this recipe for me personally is the pasta cooks in the sauce. Not only for more flavors all coming together for a delicious dish, but because I don’t like to dirty a pot boiling pasta if I don’t need to. It’s a win-win!

With everything simmering, it’ll be done in no time. Just let the pasta get nice and tender and the sauce to simmer down a bit, mix it occasionally and you’re golden. It’s so simple we needed something else to go with it, and a tasty pasta is always made tastier with fresh garlic bread.

Like the pasta, it’s nice and simple but packed with flavor. Just a sliced loaf of ciabatta with a mix of butter, parsley, and garlic spread over the inside and bake it for a few minutes until golden brown and a little crispy. This can easily be done while you’re cooking the pasta and they finish at about the same time, so you can enjoy them together while at their freshest.

This is the perfect recipe when you’re in the mood for an easy recipe that turns into an amazingly tasty meal. It’s even simpler if you want it just with the pasta, all you need is one pot and you’ll be feasting in no time, but trust me, you want this with the fresh garlic bread.
