A Halal Taco Bar for Any Occasion

Who doesn’t love tacos? They’re a beloved staple of Mexican cuisine, and for good reason, they’re convenient to eat and taste great, and that’s because you’re free to make your taco your way with whatever you want and however you choose to enjoy. So, if you’re looking for a way to celebrate an event or just enjoy a Taco Tuesday dinner at home, a taco bar has a wide array of options and flavors, anything a taco lover could want and is sure to satisfy.

If the possibility of great tasting options appeals to you, and I would hope it does, Midamar has everything you could want for a great taco bar. We decided to make a carne asada, marinated chicken, and a taco seasoned beef, so any Halal meat you might want on your taco is ready and waiting. The marinades for the steak and chicken were an easy mix of a few herbs and spices and both got marinated for about 3 hours, and while they marinate that’s gives you plenty of time get all the other toppings or sides you might want ready, but more on those later. In the end, the marinade made the meat flavorful with a tanginess that makes them such taco classic, and the acidity helps tenderize the meat a bit before grilling, lending a softer and juicier texture with every bite.

The time the meat will spend in the refrigerator marinating will give you time to get the rest of the taco bar ready, and we took that time to make our own red and green taco sauces because options are the name of the game with this recipe. The red was made with dried chilis that we rehydrated and blended with a few spices while the green was made with fresh peppers and onion, and this gives a couple of great flavor options from the sauces, the red is smokier with a little more spice while the green is tangier with more of a fresh veggie flavor instead of smokiness. Whichever one you choose; both are fantastic additions to your tacos.

We also chopped up a few classic taco toppings like fresh tomato and onion to go with some shredded cheese and sour cream. If you’re looking for a ground beef style taco, that’s where the Halal taco seasoned beef comes in. The marinated meats are fantastic, but this is another great option and it’s convenient. It’s pre-seasoned with spices perfect for tacos, and it just needs to be heated up in a pan, making it ready to go in no time and is a perfect addition to any taco bar. And once everything is put together on the table with a few of the toppings you’d expect like tomato, onion, and cheese along with choices of tortillas and taco shells, the options are limitless and there’s no wrong answers. Make your taco your way!

These were perfect for serving and were a big hit at the office as everyone got the chance to make their own tacos however they wanted, which is the ultimate goal of this recipe, and we think this will serve you well next time you’re craving this tasty Mexican classic. If there’s anything that you think we missed that you like on your tacos, add it to your taco bar so you and the whole family can enjoy flavorful Halal tacos any way they want!
