P.F. Chang’s Chicken and Lettuce Wraps Copycat
We love tasty recipes here at Midamar, and we also love the chance to try our hand at making copycat recipes of our favorite takeout orders. Just like with our General Tso’s Chicken or Crunchwrap copycats, we jumped at the chance to make these P.F. Chang’s Chicken and Lettuce Wraps in this week’s recipe, and make them with Midamar’s new Halal ground chicken!
A Takeout Classic Made Simple
There isn’t much needed to prepare this recipe, we used our Halal ground chicken so there’s no need to prepare whole chicken breast or thigh this time around. You’ll just need to dice a few tasty additions like water chestnuts, green onion, and yellow onion, then you’re ready to get cooking.
A Quick Mix Over Medium Heat
This whole dish cooks in no time, you can have it all done in about 20 minutes. As the onion and chicken cook together, it’s the perfect opportunity to mix a quick sauce to add in later. It’s what you might expect from a takeout dish like this, some soy sauce, hoisin, and a little oil. Then, when the chicken is nearly done cooking but still a little pink, add in the sauce to get all that rich and savory flavor cooked into the chicken while it finishes cooking.
A Quick and Delicious Takeout Classic
When the chicken is cooked entirely, this is a great and tasty option to serve over rice, or just on its own as a quick lean chicken snack. If you do opt for the lettuce wrap, let the chicken cool a bit before adding to the lettuce to keep it from wilting, then you’ll have juicy chicken complimented by the refreshing crunch of the lettuce.
Tasty Takeout; Done Before You Know It
When you’re craving tender Halal chicken, cooked in a sauce from your favorite takeout spot, try this instead of ordering out or waiting in line. You can have it done in 20 minutes, it tastes great, your kitchen will smell great, and you’ll have the same tasty meal at the end of it. What’s not to love? We served these with some Kaiser spring rolls for the full takeout experience, because every good meal needs a good side to go with it.
That’s it for this week! Give these a try, share them with someone that will enjoy them with you while you’re at it, this recipe makes plenty to share. Let us know what you think either here or on social media, and as always, we hope to see you next time with another fantastic Halal recipe.
