We love a takeout recipe to enjoy at home. From General Tso’s, to Orange Chicken, to Chicken Egg Rolls, there’s something special about enjoying a takeout favorite made from the comfort of your kitchen, and now we’re giving you more to enjoy with this String Bean Chicken Stir Fry recipe made Halal!
Getting right into the recipe, we used Halal chicken thighs from Midamar and they were awesome. Chicken breast always works great too but we went with thigh for this recipe for a little bit of additional flavor compared to breast. Simply slice these into thin strips and you’re ready to get it marinading.
The marinade is a simple mix of a few ingredients to boost the chicken flavor just a bit with a few key ingredients like soy sauce, peanut oil, and toasted sesame oil. Mix it into the chicken until it’s evenly coated and the liquid is absorbed and set it aside It also doesn’t need to marinate for long, so you’re all set to prep the veggies and sauce while you wait, and it’ll be ready before you know it!
This is a great recipe that gives you plenty of opportunities to work on something else in the meantime, so you can have this recipe ready to go for dinner in about half an hour. While the chicken marinates you can slice the ends off the string beans, and if you want smaller pieces that are a bit easier to fry in the pan later, you can slice them in half.
Onto the sauce, just like marinade it’s a simple blend that really punches above it’s weight in this recipe. It’s amazing what a few key ingredients like chicken stock, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and a little sugar can do to give you a sauce blend that is deliciously savory, but without overdoing it. It’s a great addition to the flavors of the chicken and the freshness of the veggies and ties the whole recipe together, and all it takes is a few ingredients and a whisk!
Once you’re cooking, you don’t stop until it’s all done, and it’s done in no time. Cook the chicken thoroughly then remove it from the pan then start frying the string beans. These cook with any leftover bits of chicken in the pan, so no great flavor is wasted in this recipe.
When the beans are soft with a little bit of crispiness, add in the sauce and bring it to a simmer until it starts to thicken, then toss the chicken back in to get coated in that tasty sauce, and that’s it! Serve this up over some white rice and with some Kaiser spring rolls available from Midamar and you have delicious homecooked meal, loaded with amazing flavor and fresh ingredients, in as little as 30 minutes. What’s not to love about this recipe?
