Halal Bologna Paninis: A Quick and Easy Sandwich Favorite
Who doesn’t love a good sandwich? It’s hard to go wrong with such a simple concept. They’re quick, easy, and a tasty way to enjoy all of your favorite ingredients in one convenient package. They’re made even better when served hot and toasted. It should come as no surprise we’re serving up deliciously simple paninis this week, made even easier with Midamar's new Halal chicken bologna for the ultimate ready-in-no-time meal.
A Simple Sandwich: Some Assembly Required
You’ll be pleased to know that, like most sandwiches, there isn’t a lot of preparation before you start building your sandwich. This is made even easier by using Midamar’s Halal chicken bologna, no frying or grilling is required when you’ve got convenient and delicious lunchmeat so you can get to enjoying your panini faster.
We kept our simple and went with the classic meat, greens, and cheese combo but as with all sandwiches, make it your own with whatever you enjoy. We used a ciabatta loaf for a nice sturdy bread that can hold its shape when you press it in the pan later. This gave us 4 nicely sized sandwiches, plenty for a tasty leftover or an easy family lunch.
We went with a simple combo of the bologna, spinach, and some Swiss cheese with a spread of pesto mayo to tie everything together and you can’t go wrong with this flavor combo. It’s fresh and savory and makes for a tasty meal that isn’t let down by its simplicity for only needing a few key ingredients.
Time for Toasting
For those without a panini press at home, a light brushing of oil on the outside of the bread and a quick trip to a pan over low heat will still give you a tastily toasted panini in no time. Just pressing it flat with a spatula ensures that golden brown crust we all love to see on our favorite hot sandwiches.
If you want to make sure the inside gets warmed up and the cheese gets nice and melted, add in a tablespoon or so of water to the pan and let it steam for a bit under a venting lid. It only takes a few minutes for the water to evaporate but this will help get everything warmed through without letting your bread get too soft or soggy.
And Just Like That…
You’re all done! This would’ve been a fine sandwich served cold, but that extra little bit to serve it toasted and melty is what makes a good sandwich great. This is the perfect recipe and method if you want to enjoy a quick lunch or even an easy dinner after a long day, and it’s made even better when served with some soup and some chips to snack on with it. That’s all for this week, the time it took to read this isn’t much shorter than the time it takes to make, so next time you’re in need of something quick and tasty, keep this recipe in mind and we hope you check out some of our other great Halal recipes.
