Who doesn’t love a hot bowl of ramen?! With savory broth and noodles that are done in no time, it’s simple enough that you can add anything you want for a tasty meal in a flash. It hits the spot and is a flavor favorite worldwide, so we knew we had to make our own, do it right, and make it the best it can be with juicy Halal chicken and fresh veggies.
Starting off, this is a great recipe if you don’t want to stress over buying a bunch of ingredients that you spend all night preparing. If you have a couple packs of instant ramen, some veggies, and broth taking up space in your kitchen, they’re great to get used here. We made ours with Halal chicken breast that is always delicious, and like the rest of this recipe, was incredibly simple. We seasoned it with salt and pepper and that’s it before cooking it in a pan but pan frying it in a little oil in the same pot you’ll make the rest of the dish in is a great way to keep the flavors all together and save yourself a dish to clean.
For the ramen itself, we didn’t use instant ramen exactly and we added some dried shiitake mushrooms to bring a nice hearty flavor to this dish. These both can be found at Asian grocery stores if you have one near you, and the noodles are higher quality than their instant cousins but still nice and cheap for an economically conscious meal! Otherwise, the spinach and carrots that round out the veggie portion of this dish can be found anywhere you typically buy your produce, so no need to overcomplicate what is meant to be a deliciously easy recipe.
When it comes to cooking, like many-a-soup this is all set to be made in a large pot and is a matter of simmering your ingredients together so all the flavors can get to know each other. The broth will rehydrate and soften the mushrooms, wilt the spinach, and tenderize the carrots but still retain just enough satisfying crunch to bring a little texture to this dish. There’s no need to wait too long before enjoying either, just cover and simmer long enough to prepare the ingredients within, without letting too much of your liquids evaporate out of the pot.
When it’s all set, just grab a bowl and top yours with some of your chicken and a soft-boiled egg, then you’re enjoying a heart and savory bowl of delicious in no time! Sure it takes longer than the instant variety, but this ramen recipe is still so quick and easy that it’ll be your new way of enjoying this dish, perfect for a busy night where you want to get to enjoying dinner. You’ll have a whole pot of it, so share it with family, friends, or any ramen lovers you know, and let us know what you think of this here or on social media. As always, we would love to know what you did differently to make it even better, and we’ll see you next week with another recipe we’ll think you’ll love.
